Ian Dunlop

Ian Dunlop is an independent art expert with extensive knowledge of the international art market. He is the author of several books on Impressionist and Modern Art, including The Shock of the New, published in 1972, and biographies of Vincent van Gogh, and Edgar Degas. For a number of years he was the art critic of the London Evening Standard.

In 1973 he joined Sotheby’s in the US and worked as an appraiser and expert on Impressionist and Modern Art before becoming Head of the Contemporary Art department in New York. After returning to live in the UK he became Head of the Citibank Private Bank Art Advisory Service in London where he started the Citibank Photography Prize, the most valuable and most prestigious photography award in the UK.

Since founding T.G. Riese & Associates in 1994, Tracey Riese has served as trusted branding and communications advisor to the leadership of public and private companies, cultural and academic institutions, and not-for-profit organizations.

She has worked with the corporate and operating leadership of such companies as: American Express, AT&T, Bain & Company, Bristol Myers Squibb, Charles Schwab, Citicorp, Corporate Executive Board, Digitas/Publicis, New York Times Company, Pfizer, Russell Reynolds Associates, Scholastic, and State of Israel Bonds.

Work with cultural and not-for-profit organizations includes: BoardSource, Brooklyn Museum of Art, The City of New York, Expeditionary Learning, New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, New York City Ballet, New York Public Radio, Smith College, Teach for America and World Wildlife Fund.

Prior to starting T.G. Riese & Associates, Tracey was Senior Vice President, Corporate and Marketing Communications Worldwide at Revlon. Before that she had held senior corporate and marketing communications positions at RJR Nabisco, and Chemical Bank. In these positions, she led corporate branding, leadership positioning, internal communications, culture change initiatives and community relations/cultural affairs programs.

She began her career in marketing and communications at Young & Rubicam and Burson-Marsteller, where she held progressively senior positions managing cross-disciplinary account teams for such clients as AT&T, Merrill Lynch, Johnson & Johnson, Time Inc., Herman Miller and Cointreau Liqueurs. Before joining the agency, she had helped launch the corporate art advisory business at Sotheby’s. She serves on the Board of Trustees of A Better Chance, el Museo del Barrio and Sarah Lawrence College. She holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.
